Equipment I Use (Doppler Hunter)
1) 4-Element Cushcraft Beam with a PVC pipe for a handle.
2) Homemade beam attenuator (BNC in-line).
3) 2-Meter, out-of-band intermod filter (helps somewhat with the Icom's wide-open receiver).
4) Kenwood TR-2400 HT (U-R-Here radio).
5) Icom IC-W32A HT (Talk-in, U-R-Hear and initial bearing radio).
6) Yaesu FT-226R mobile radio (With Microfinder Doppler).
7) AHHA Microfinder Dopper. (Latest version, as of a couple of years ago).
8) Homemade HT close-in attenuator. (Cardboard tube with aluminum foil).
9) Homemade field strength meter with a 2-metter filter and built-in attenuator for close-in. (works *great* if the signal is strong enough).
10) Maps covered with clear packing tape, dry-erase markers, ruler, protractor, magnetic compass, reading glasses, magnifier and flashlight.

PROBLEMS:
1) IC-W32A is too susceptible to intermod. (I have a LOT of trouble on the hill at the Fremont Start Point).
2) During close-in work, HT gets overwhelmed *BEFORE* the field strength meter is usable. Bit of a gap there.
3) Microfinder Doppler gets spoofed easily by reflections and who knows what.
