Gary-WB6YRU,
the fox, took the time to write and send me information on this hunt so
I could pass it along to all the readers. Thank you Gary.
Andy and James came in first with only 11.8 miles. Rich
came in a distant second using the signal strength and body fade method.
Chris didn't have a working Doppler and also used the
signal strength, body fade method, finding the fox in 25.1 miles but,
did not start from the start point.
Tony and Ray found the fox in only 17.1 miles but,
didn't start from the start point.
The transmitter was located north of Durham Rd and
Hwy-680, along Sabercat Rd (a little turn-out north of Pine St.), and
was 1-watt into a mag-mount antenna.

The tones on the transmitter were designed to confuse the AHHA Doppler.
Rich reports that it worked pretty well and he didn't seem to be too
happy about it. The others were using a different Doppler and were much
less affected. Next time I'll try a variation that should confuse all
Dopplers... I hope.
Everyone found the transmitter in less than two hours.
Dinner was at Pizza Depot, at Auto Mall and Grimmer.

I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a bigger turn-out and that
half of them didn't even start at the start point. Rich says it's
probably due to people getting busy with Christmas, but that's still a
ways off.
Anyway, I'm happy to learn that my experiment to
confuse Dopplers seems to work. Now I need to come up with something
that will confuse the signal strength method.
