The Transmitter was on the east side of a chain-link fence at the east end
of Canyons Pkwy, just south of the Las Positas Collage in Livermore. It was
about 8 watts into a horizontally polarized four-element beam pointed North
by North-East (at the Collage).
Unfortunately this hunt didn't last very long. The first
hunter showed up less than one-hour after the start. Everyone was there by
about 6:15 PM.
The modulation of the transmitter alternated between the
rotation frequencies of the AHHA Doppler, an intentional misdirection, which
the hunters said worked, but evidently didn't cost anyone much time.
Reportedly, it did cause Doppler's to rotate some, but apparently the
transmitter didn't stay on any one tone long enough to be a serious problem.
The Transmitter was turned off around 6:30 PM. The group
had Pizza at the Round Table in downtown Pleasanton (near Main St and Bernal
Ave.).
End of report.
